Community Service Opportunity
The Chinese Culture Program for Children (CCPC) is a non-profit 501c3 organization dedicated to promote community participation, education, and leadership, to foster cultural exchange and awareness. Primary mission for the non-profit organization is to offer families of all background a nurturing environment for learning the Chinese culture and language. School-aged children from 5 years up are welcomed to attend and parents as well as other family members of the students have been active participants in various cultural activities organized to foster a sense of community.
Job Description
Key responsibilities include supporting the instructors in classroom management, procuring supplies, assisting in administrative duties, and supervising children during recess. Program meets Saturday mornings from 9:30am to 12noon on the Morningside Campus of Columbia University.
Requirements
· Currently attending a New York City high school
· Interest or background in Chinese culture
· Responsible and enjoys being around young children
· Commitment for the full 2018/2019 program year preferred
